How it works

Three steps, about 5 minutes of your time.

1
Tell us about the car

VIN, mileage, ZIP, condition, options, and the insurer's offer. Paste or upload their valuation report if you have it.

2
We check the numbers

We decode the VIN, gather comparables from live dealer listings where available, your insurer's report, and listings you add, adjust them for mileage and equipment, and compare against the insurer's report line by line.

3
You send the letter

Download your PDF: value range, flagged issues, what to ask for, and a pushback letter ready to edit, sign and send.

What's in your report

Written so an adjuster can follow every number.

  • Vehicle summary decoded from your VIN
  • Comparables from live dealer listings where available, your insurer's report, and listings you add, each adjusted for mileage and equipment
  • Estimated fair market value range vs. the offer
  • Checklist of common valuation errors: wrong trim, missing options, condition deductions, distant comps, "projected sold" adjustments, missing tax and fees
  • A ready-to-send pushback letter in your words
  • Next steps, including how appraisal clauses usually work

Common issues we check

Wrong trim Valuing a higher trim as a base model can cost thousands.

Missing options Packages left off the equipment list never get credited.

Condition deductions "Fair" ratings without a pre-loss inspection.

Projected sold adjustment A deduction applied to every comparable's price.

Distant comps Comparables far outside your market.

Takes about 3 minutes. You'll review checkout before paying.

Strongly recommended. Same-trim listings near you are the strongest evidence in your letter, and they matter most if your insurer report can't be read automatically.
How to find good comparables (5 minutes)

Search Autotrader.com, Cars.com or CarGurus.com for the same year, make, model and exact trim as your car. Set the search to your ZIP and 100 miles or less, sort by distance, and pick listings with mileage close to yours (within about 20,000 miles). For each one, copy the listing URL, the asking price, mileage, trim and the distance shown ("18 mi"). Three to six listings is ideal. Skip salvage/rebuilt titles and listings without a price.

FAQ

What's free and what's paid?

The error check is free: it reads the insurer's valuation report and flags common problems with a rough estimate of the dollars at stake. The full report ($49) adds comparable listings (live dealer listings near you when available, the comparables in your insurer's report, and any listings you add), a corrected value range, an itemized dispute list and a ready-to-send letter.

Is the insurer's first offer negotiable?

Usually you can ask for a re-evaluation and submit your own evidence. Outcomes vary by insurer, policy and state.

Is this an appraisal I can use for the appraisal clause?

No. If you invoke your policy's appraisal clause, you will typically hire your own appraiser. This report helps you decide whether that is worth it.

Do you contact my insurer?

No. You send the letter yourself, so you stay in control of your claim.

Where does the data come from?

Vehicle details come from the NHTSA vPIC VIN decoder. Comparable listings come from live dealer-listing data where available (MarketCheck), the comparables in your insurer's own report, and listings you paste in. The sample report uses EXAMPLE data.
